Hundreds of women today (Jan 27, 2005) joined the agitation of private school students in Bihar by offering mass prayers for securing the release of students kidnapped in Biharsharif, Bhagalpur and Patna.
Most of the students of private schools did not carry tiffins as a mark of protest, while a group of 15 students continued relay fast at the office of a social organisation 'Oxygen' in Patna, where a large number of women assembled to offer prayers for the release of the students.
The students had stayed away from cultural programmes on Republic Day yesterday (Jan 26, 2005) and formed human chains.
Ravikant, a student of the DAV public school, was kidnapped at Biharsharif town in Nalanda district on Monday (Jan 24, 2005) sending the police establishment into a tizzy barely six days after the abduction of Kislay, a student of Delhi Public School in Patna.
Even as the protests continued against their kidnapping, yet another student of the DAV public school (Bhagalpur), Dipa Kumar went missing on Tuesday (Jan 25, 2005).
The students have decided to gherao the Raj Bhavan tomorrow (Jan 28, 2005) to mount pressure on the State administration for release of the students.
