105 file nominations for 2nd phase polls in Bihar

Patna: Around 105 candidates, including senior Bihar Minister Upendra Prasad Verma and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) State president Abdul Bari Siddiqui, submitted their papers on the last date of filing of nominations today (Jan 27, 2005) for the 86 Assembly seats in Bihar going to polls in the second phase on February 15.

State election office sources said around 105 candidates filed their nominations in different constituencies.

While senior RJD leader and Minister for Panchayati Raj Upendra Prasad Verma filed his nomination for Jamalpur, Siddiqui submitted her papers for Bahera Assembly seat.

Retired IAS officer Gorelal Yadav also filed his papers as Samajwadi Party nominee for Kharagpur Assembly seat.

Scrutiny of papers would be done tomorrow (Jan 28, 2005) and January 31 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
