I want Kislay back; I want my son back: Vajpayee Thursday, January 27 2005 21:15 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bhagalpur (Bihar):
Making an impassioned appeal for the release of abducted Delhi Public School (DPS) student Kislay Komal, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Jan 27, 2005) called upon the electorate to bring down the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Government in
Bihar accusing it of being insensitive to the security concerns of the people.
''I want Kislay back. I want my son back,'' said Vajpayee addressing a NDA (National Democratic Alliance) rally in Bihar giving sufficient indication that the Opposition alliance would make State's worsening crime profile, particularly abduction of children, a major electoral plank in the February Assembly elections.
''Jis raja ke raj mein praja dukhi ho, asurakshit ho, who raja narak mein bhejne layak hota hai'' (in a rule where the subjects are sad and insecure, the ruler ought to be sent to hell,'' the top BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leader said.
Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the State, he said, ''Some people want to manipulate the outcome of the polls through money and muscle power. You (the people) have got the vote which can pave the way for creation of a new Bihar.''
''Bihar wants change. Bihar wants peace and security. Instead, it has got kidnapping as the major industry,'' Vajpayee said, adding the situation could change if RJD was unseated from power.
He, however, maintained that for this to happen the people would have to rise above caste and religious considerations and ''heed the voice of their souls.''
