Advani woos voters with promise of good governance Friday, January 28 2005 12:22 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Rewari (Haryana):
Apparently keeping open post-poll options, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president L K Advani yesterday (Jan 27, 2005) avoided any direct attack on Chautala Government or any reference to Hindutva, and sought to woo Haryana's voters on good governance plank.
He also asked them to give his party an opportunity to rule the state.
"The anger against the incumbent Government is omnipresent. People's anger is like Lord Shiva's third eye but they should not bring back the Congress to vent their anger against the present regime," Advani said addressing a thinly attended rally in Rewari.
Promising good governance and corruption-free administration a week ahead of the Assembly polls, the former deputy prime Minister asked the people to give one opportunity to the BJP as they had tried both the Congress and INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) earlier.
"We will change the face of Haryana,'' he promised.
Advani, however, did not make any direct attack on Chautala Government saying that the party had supported the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) Government at the center ''though they tried to finish the BJP at the state level.''
