NDA may return to power in the Centre: Advani
Friday, January 28 2005 20:26 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bhurkunda (Jharkhand): The events taking place in the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government at the Centre indicated a great possibility of come back of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) regime, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president and former Deputy Prime Minister, L K Advani said.

Addressing an election meeting in Bhurkunda, Advani said how development works like connecting roads to six lakh villages across the country, setting up health facilities, irrigation and electricity schemes taken up during Vajpayee regime had been stalled following the NDA's ouster from power.

Spotlight: Elections 2005

''But we are not disappointed as the happenings which are taking place in the Centre now is an indication that NDA might stage a come back'', Advani said and added in a democratic system, if the people are dissatisfied with the performance of any Government, they would overthrow the non-performing regime.

Urging the electorate to give another chance to the NDA in Jharkhand, Advani said that they would be committing a blunder if they voted to non-NDA parties in the coming elections.

Campaigning in support for party candidate Loknath Mahto who is contesting from Barkagaon, Advani said the need of the hour was to form an honest and sincere Government for which the Chief Minister Arjun Munda and his predecessor Babulal Marandi had laid the foundation in the last four years.

''But four years are not enough. If the NDA is given a chance for another term, there will be a sea chance in the new State,'' he added.
