Make Centre crime free, Advani tells Sonia & PM Saturday, January 29 2005 22:33 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Rohtak (Haryana):
Ridiculing Congress president Sonia Gandhi for promising to make Haryana a crime-free State, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president and former deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today (Jan 29, 2005) asked her and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to first make the Centre free of criminals.
"Sonia Gandhi has promised to make Haryana 'apradhi mukt' (crime free) State when her party was extending support to the Rabri Devi-led RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Government in Bihar where criminals were ruling the roost and murder, kidnapping and extortion had become the order of the day," he said.
There were several "tainted" Ministers in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government at the Centre, Advani said addressing an election rally in favour of BJP candidate from Hassangarh Assembly constituency Naresh Malik in Rohtak.
He asked Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh to make the Union Government free of criminals before promising "apradh-mukta" (crime free) Haryana.
The BJP president appealed to the people to give a chance to his party to serve the State and "promised work for every hand and water to every field in Haryana".
