Carrying forward the new momentum in bilateral ties, India and Russia have agreed to further develop their strategic partnership and work for a more cooperative, consensual and multi-polar security order.
During bilateral consultations on strategic stability and disarmament held in New Delhi on Friday (Jan 28, 2005), the two sides exchanged perceptions and assessments on issues of regional and international security.
They decided to continue the dialogue, the External Affairs Ministry stated in New Delhi. Russia has offered to host the next round of talks in Moscow.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to "further develop and enhance their bilateral strategic partnership," it said.
While the Indian delegation for the consultations was led by Meera Shankar, additional secretary in the External Affairs Ministry, the Russian side was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak who also had a meeting with Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran.
