Naxalite violence in India is manageable: Pranab

New Delhi: The Naxalite violence in Andhra Pradesh and other States of the country was "manageable", Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said today (Jan 29, 2005).

"The violence is manageable and there is no cause to be panicky. This problem is being dealt with," he told reporters on the sidelines of seventh Asian Security Conference in New Delhi.

The Minister was asked to comment on the reported remarks by US Ambassador in New Delhi, David Mulford expressing concern at growing Naxalite violence in the country and saying that it could hit inflow of foreign investments in the country.
