Visitors call on Jayendra Saraswathi in Kalavai

Kalavai (TN): Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi's younger brother Viswanatha Iyer, today (Jan 29, 2005) called on the Seer at the Brindavan Ashram in Kalavai.

Asked about the health of the Seer, Iyer told reporters later that there was a doctor present at the ashram to take care of Jayendra Saraswathi's medical needs.

The Seer appeared to be keeping well, he said.

The Shankaracharya has been residing in Brindavan since his release on bail in the Sankararaman murder case on Jan 11.

Earlier, a Neurologist from a corporate hospital at Chennai also called on the Seer. The neurologist later told reporters that he had visited the ashram as a devotee of the Shankaracharya.
