VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) leader Praveenbhai Togadia was today (Jan 31, 2005) granted bail by a court in Bijapur in connection with a case registered against him on charge of making a provocative speech at a public meeting in Bijapur two years ago.
Togadia appeared before the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court and moved the bail application through his advocate.
Bijapur police had chargesheeted Togadia two years ago for making a "provocative speech, which hurt the feelings of some community". Two cases were filed against Togadia and the court today granted bail for sureity from two persons and on a bond of Rs 10,000.
Bajrang Dal Karnataka unit leader Pramod Muthalik, who has already been granted bail in the same case, was with Togadia during his appearance in the court, which adjourned further hearing to May two.
