Hyderabad:
In a new turn to the murder of former Minister and TDP (Telugu Desam Party) MLA Paritala Ravi, five persons allegedly involved in the case today (Feb 1, 2005) surrendered to Anantapur police.
The five, including Narayan Reddy, who was alleged to be the second shooter, first approached a local lawyer Aadisesh Reddy for the surrender, who in turn informed the police in Anantapur town, police said.
The four others who surrendered today were, O B Reddy, Seenu, Ranganayakulu and Konda, police said.
With this, the total number of those who have surrendered in the case has risen to six.
Earlier, Rekhmaiah surrendered to Mahaboobnagar police on January 27, and is now under judicial remand.
Police is trying to trace Julakanti Srinivas Reddy, who gave an interview to a Telugu TV channel last night saying that he was among the six persons who had killed TDP legislator Ravi.
Reddy, who is yet to be traced, had said, "I will surrender to police in a week after killing two aides of Ravi".
Meanwhile, Anantapur police today filed an application before the district court seeking police custody of Rekhmaiah. The petition was posted for tomorrow.
Ravi was killed on January 24 when he was coming out of TDP office after attending a general body meeting in Anantapur town.
