Flight disrupted due to fire at Bangalore Airport Wednesday, February 2 2005 11:43 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

A minor fire at the Bangalore airport this morning (Feb 02, 2005) disrupted incoming and outbound flights for about two hours, a senior airport official said.
The fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant at the airport but it was "minor" and extinguished, Bangalore airport Director B P Bhagat said.
Domestic flights were delayed for about two hours, he said.
Fire brigade sources said that seven fire tenders, including six of HAL, rushed to the spot and put out the fire. None were injured in the incident, they said.
The departure of two flights operating via Bangalore to Delhi from here were delayed by 90-minutes, following a fire.
Airport sources said that Sahara Airlines and Jet Airways flights to Delhi via Bangalore, which were scheduled to leave Bangalore at 06:00 hrs (IST), left only at 07:30 hrs (IST) and 07:40 hrs (IST) respectively.
