Dismissal of Goa Govt is 'unconstitutional': BJP
Wednesday, February 2 2005 20:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Feb 2, 2005) termed as "unconstitutional" the dismissal of its Government in Goa and threatened to take to the streets and approach the President against State Governor S C Jamir's decision.

"The Governor's decision is unconstitutional. The Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government is misusing its powers to sabotage democratically elected Governments," party Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told sources in New Delhi.

In response to a question, he said if there were any differences over the role of the Assembly Speaker, the courts could have been approached.

"We will take to the streets and approach the President of India against this decision," he said.
