King Gyanendra to be in B'desh for SAARC Summit
Wednesday, February 2 2005 12:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Dhaka: King Gyanendra and his Queen will be in Bangladesh on February 6 for the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation) Summit, a private television channel said last night (Feb 01, 2005) quoting a Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry official.

"With this all uncertainties over the holding of the Summit are over," private NTV channel said quoting a Foreign Ministry spokesman.

Earlier too, Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury did not rule out the participation of Nepalese King Gyanendra who earlier in the day sacked Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba Government and imposed a state of emergency in the Himalayan Kingdom.

He hoped that the seven-nation SAARC summit will go ahead as scheduled on February 6-7 in Bangladesh despite the developments in Nepal.
