Wednesday, February 2 2005 17:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Islamabad: An upcoming leader's summit of seven South Asian nations in Dhaka has been cancelled after the Indian Prime Minister's refusal to attend, the regional grouping's current chairman Pakistan said today (Feb 2, 2005).

"The summit has been cancelled and fresh dates will be worked out after consultation," Pakistani Information Minister Sheikh Rashid told sources in Islamabad.

"It is beyond our understanding why India refused at the last minute. We are asking them for the reasons," he added.
