New Delhi:
Top BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leaders led by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee along with ousted Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parikkar would be meeting President A P J Abdul Kalam this evening (Feb 03, 2005) to protest against the "undemocratic, unconstitutional and arbitrary" dismissal of party Government in the State.
Senior BJP leaders including party president L K Advani would urge the President to intervene in the matter and restore the Parikkar Government, which was sacked after it won a vote of confidence on the floor of the House, BJP Deputy leader in Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said.
The BJP, which had attacked Governor S C Jamir for his "reprehensible and pre-meditated action," would also be seeking his recall.
Later, a meeting of the party central office bearers has been convened to discuss the situation including its plan to legally challenge the Governor's action.
