Forward Bloc slams CPM for its poll pact with RJD Thursday, February 3 2005 11:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kolkata:
The Forward Bloc, a Left Front constituent yesterday (Feb 02, 2005) criticised the CPM's (Communist party of India Marxist) decision to go for an electoral understanding with the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) in Bihar when the Left parties had jointly organised a bandh in that State last year on the issues of corruption and lack of rule of law under the Rabri Devi regime.
All India general secretary of the Forward Bloc Debabrata Biswas, MP, told reporters in Kolkata, "It is unfortunate that the CPM has joined hands with the RJD despite the fact that the Left parties had organised a bandh last year against the corruption, criminalisation of politics and mounting unemployment in Bihar, where there is no rule of law.
"The electoral adjustment with the RJD just for the sake of hoping to win one or two seats is not understandable to us," he said.
He said that his party would fight it alone in the Assembly elections in Bihar and Jharkhand.
