Jharkhand State general secretary of Janata Dal-United, Murari Pandey was arrested along with three other party activists for trying to influence voters in favour of his party candidates in Daltongunj during the first phase of poll today (Feb 03, 2005).
Pandey was arrested from Kaniram middle school booth where he was trying to woo the voters in favour of his party candidates, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), Khurshid Anwar said.
Anwar said that three of Pandey's supporters were also taken into custody for their unlawful act.
Police also recovered two pistols and 33 live cartridges from the possession of Pandey, Anwar added.
