'Sankararaman murder chargesheet taken into file'
Thursday, February 3 2005 18:52 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kancheepuram: The Sankararaman murder charge sheet had been taken into file and accepted by the committal court, judicial magistrate-I Kancheepuram, G Uthamaraja said today (Feb 3, 2005).

Spotlight: Kanchi Jayendra Saraswathi's Arrest

The case has been given number PRC No: 2/2005, the magistrate said when defence counsel A Shanmugam told magistrate that the defence has no information on the matter and had to entirely depend on the matter in dailies.

Later, speaking to reporters, Shanmugam said judging by the speed at which the processing is going on, he felt that charges would be framed against individual accused in three to four days.

Generally, this should take much longer, as every copy has to be verified carefully and authenticated with the original. This haste would put the defence in some difficulty, he said.

When asked how long Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi would be in Kalavai, he said the Seer would continue to stay at Kalavai though he was free to return to the Mutt after receipt of chargesheet copy.
