Fit case of breach of privilege against CM: Speaker
Saturday, February 5 2005 22:22 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Panaji: Terming Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane's allegations against him as "politically motivated", Goa Assembly Speaker Vishwas Satarkar today (Feb 5, 2005) said there was a fit case of breach of privilege against Rane for sitting in his chair in the House during the vote of confidence.

"There is a clear cut case of breach of privilege against Rane. He cannot sit in my chair during proceedings of the House," he told reporters in Panaji.

"I am also considering a contempt petition against the Governor's OSD who issued a press communique questioning my role," Satarkar said.

Terming Rane's allegations against him as "irresponsible and politically motivated", Satarkar said, "All events in the Assembly on that day were totally legal. I have acted according to rule book."
