'Laloo-Rabri regime was heading towards its exit'
Monday, February 7 2005 17:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kishanganj (Bihar): Mounting a scathing attack on the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Government for the sorry state of affairs in Bihar, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) President L K Advani today (Feb 7, 2005) said the 'Laloo-Rabri regime' was heading towards its 'exit' and appealed to the electorate to give a clear mandate to the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) to free the State from crime and ensure its all-round growth.

Without naming former Railway Minister Nitish Kumar, Advani said the next Chief Minister would be from the JDU (Janata Dal-United), which was its bigger partner contesting 138 seats and cautioned the electorate against a hung Assembly.

Addressing election rallies at Araria and Kishanganj, Advani said, "According to trends available from the first phase poll in 64 constituencies held on February 3, the ineffective and incompetent RJD regime is bound to go.

"There is lack of electricity, drinking water and the condition of roads is bad. Law and order is worsening day by day, as people feel insecure. The spate of kidnappings of schoolchildren, including Kislay, and businessmen and doctors have sent shock wave across the country," Advani said.

Recalling that his party came to power in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh on the development plank, he said, "Our CMs in Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan have been doing exceedingly well for development of their States."

Promising that his party together with its ally JDU would give a better administration and end crime without any delay, Advani asked the electorate to give a clear mandate to the NDA to achieve its long-cherished dream of ridding the State of 'anarchy and chaos.'
