India begins human clinical trial of AIDS vaccine Monday, February 7 2005 13:33 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

India today (Feb 07, 2005) began its first human clinical trial of an investigational vaccine designed to prevent HIV-AIDS, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss said in New Delhi.
"The trial is being conducted by a partnership between the Government and International AIDS Vaccine Initiative in Pune," he said.
The vaccine is being tested on 30 volunteers in the first phase the trial, Ramadoss said.
