BJP to complain to EC about RJD on Bihar polls Monday, February 7 2005 14:15 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
With the second phase of Assembly elections a week away, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Feb 07, 2005) decided to approach the Election Commission (EC) to complain about law and order situation in Bihar and "misuse" of official and police machinery by the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Government in the State.
The delegation of BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and General Secretary Arun Jaitley will seek to underline during the meeting this evening that the law and order situation in Bihar is "not conducive" for free, fair and peaceful polls.
"There is rampant misuse of official and police machinery by the Rabri Devi Government, which is a hurdle in the way of holding fair polls," Naqvi said.
He said that the delegation would impress upon the EC to ensure proper and adequate deployment of central para-military forces so that "manipulations" by the State administration could be avoided.
