Modi confident of NDA's victory in all three States Monday, February 7 2005 16:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Jamshedpur:
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today (Feb 07, 2005) expressed confidence that the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) would form the new Government in the three States of Haryana, Bihar and Jharkhand, where Assembly elections were being held.
Addressing an election meeting at Baridih he alleged that the sole aim of Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) was to remain in power rather than work for development, the Gujarat Chief Minister claimed that criminalisation of politics was ruling the roost in Congress-ruled States.
Modi said that the people of Bihar had chosen to accept leaders like Railway Minister and RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) chief Laloo Prasad Yadav to get rid of the Congress, which had exploited the mineral rich undivided State.
The masses were now wanting to get rid of the RJD Government as it had failed to deliver during its long tenure, he said.
Criticising the Bihar Government for the spate of kidnappings, Modi said that over 3000 people from the State were migrating to Gujarat every day as their home State could not give them a livelihood.
Though he appreciated the all round progress of the Jharkhand Government in its four-year rule, Modi admitted that the NDA needed time to finish uncompleted work.
He also claimed that anti-Jharkhand forces had joined hands to exploit the State and were working behind the scenes to defame the NDA Government, which was working for development.
