Contradictions in UPA not a funny situation: Amar Tuesday, February 8 2005 22:18 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Samajwadi Party today (Feb 8, 2005) said its efforts to form a Third Front would continue in view of "differences" between Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) and its Left supporters on economic issues which was not a "funny situation".
"The Left attack on raising of FDI in telecom and other issues is growing with each passing day. But the Government is not paying heed to them and contradictions in the UPA are increasing. This is not a funny situation," SP general secretary Amar Singh told reporters in New Delhi.
He was responding to a question whether his party had given up the idea of forming a Third Front.
On Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister hinting that his party would make efforts to persuade the Left to form a non-Congress Government at the Centre, Amar Singh said, " If Mulayam Singh Yadav has said so, I cannot differ."
