Hyderabad: In continued violence by Maoist naxalites, leftist ultras blasted two Government building including a mandal development office and set afire a bus in Andhra Pradesh yesterday (Feb 07, 2005).

A Mandal Development Office was blasted by CPI-Maoist (Communist Party of India) naxals on the outskirts of Govindarao Pet village in Warangal district yesterday morning, police said.

A group of naxals planted landmines and blasted the office after ordering the watchman out of the building, they said.

In Karimnagar district, Maoist naxals of Mahadevpur area blasted a forest guesthouse at Kataram, nearly 120 kms from the district headquarters.

Over 10 Maoist naxals planted detonator around the guesthouse after ordering the watchman to vacate the building, police said.

The naxals told the watchman that they were blasting the guesthouse to protest the recent naxal-police encounter at Sivaram village in Adilabad district in which three Maoists were killed.

Naxalites also set afire a road transport corporation (RTC) bus at Rampur in Bhoopalpally mandal of Warangal district, police said.

Maoists ordered the driver to stop the vehicle on the outskirts of Rampur and after asking passengers to disembark, they set the bus ablaze, police added.
