Time-bomb like object found behind Vajpayee's dais
Wednesday, February 9 2005 17:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Darbhanga (Bihar): Recovery of a 'time bomb-like' object not carrying explosive hardly 18 metres behind the dais of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Raj maidan in Darbhanga today (Feb 9, 2005) sent the security persons into a tizzy.

Soon after Vajpayee concluded his election speech at the crowded ground and proceeded to the helipad for take-off, the police stumbled upon a torch with a clock and around 10 metres of wire lying abandoned behind the dais, police sources said.

The police though confirmed that there was no explosive substance inside the torch, it had been seized and sent for forensic test.

No arrest has been made in this connection, the sources added.
