London Temple helps Tsunami-hit fishermen Friday, February 11 2005 18:10 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Sri Kanaga Thurkkai Amman Temple donated 25,000 Pounds to repair the Tsunami affected Boats and Engines of Mullaitivu fishermen.
First set of repaired boats and engines were handed over to the fishing folks on Feb 7, 2005, at 4.00 pm in Silaawaththai, Mullaitivu.
Navaratnam, Vice Chairman of London Sri Kanaga Thurkkai Amman Temple traveled from London to attend the event and handed over the boats on behalf of the Temple Trust.
Tamil Information Technicians Association (TITA) setup the repair yard and repaired the boats with the help of technicians from Mannar.
Consortium of Fishermen's Association coordinated the whole project by identifying and recommending the boats and engines to be repaired.
Mukunthan, Head of Political Wing of LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) Mullaitivu, TRO Mullai head, Mariathas, President, Consortium of Fishermen Association, Mullai Skanthadeva from London and Navajeevan of TITA Participated.
