Junior Seer reports at police station in Chennai Sunday, February 13 2005 14:11 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Complying with the directives of the Madras High Court, the junior Seer of Kanchi Mutt, Vijayendra Saraswathi, today (Feb 13, 2005) appeared before the thousand lights police station in the city and affixed his thumb impression at the register there.
The Seer, visiting a police station for the first time, affixed the thumb impression as normally, Peetathipadhis (Mutt heads) do not sign in any register or papers.
Heavy police bandobust was made at the station in view of the Seer's visit.
While granting him conditional bail on Feb 10 in the Sankararaman murder case, the court had directed the Seer to remain within city limits, and to report before the thousand lights police station every Sunday at 1000 hrs (IST).
Vijayendra Saraswathi, arrested on January 10, was released from the Central Prison in Chennai on Feb 11 and since been staying at the Sri Kamakshiamman temple complex at Greenways Road in South Chennai.
