India and Pakistan today (Feb 16, 2005) reached an understanding to run the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service.
The understanding was reached during the talks External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh had with the Pakistani leadership in Islamabad, sources in the Pakistan Foreign
Office said.
Indian and Pakistani officials announced launching of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service from April 7.
The travel by the service will be by the entry permit system once identifications are verified, Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid M Kasuri told a joint press conference with visiting External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh in Islamabad.
Singh, who is on a bilateral visit to Islamabad, called on President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and discussed the entire gamut of the Indo-Pak relations, including the ongoing composite dialogue and confidence building measures.
He also held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid M Kasuri.
