Congress, LJP eating into NDA vote share: Laloo Wednesday, February 16 2005 11:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Laloo Prasad last night (Feb 15, 2005) claimed that Congress and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) were eating into the vote share of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), befitting his party in the Assembly polls in Bihar.
"Paswan has no vote base. Congress has no vote base. They are, in fact, cutting into votes of the NDA, which is helping RJD," Laloo told Aaj Tak news channel.
He was responding to a question on whether a pre-poll alliance between the three United Progressive Alliance (UPA) partners would have helped them get majority.
"It has always been all against me and the lantern has always emerged the strongest," the RJD supremo said.
Parrying questions on whether he would consider taking support of Ram Vilas Paswan's LJP to form Government, Laloo said, "There is no need for me to consider the possibility as I am getting majority. If Paswan wants to support the 'majority' Government, then he is welcome."
About exit polls predicting losses for his party, he said, "The electronic media should have some patience. They should wait till the 27th. You know what happened seven months back.
A lot was said about there being Jungle Raj in Bihar, that there was no law and order in the State. But we got the numbers."
