Ranchi:
Re-polling would be held in 28 booths spread over ten constituencies in Jharkhand, where the second phase of polling was held in Tuesday (Feb 15, 2005), official sources said.
Khirjri Assembly constituency has the maximum number of 10 booths directed for re-poll followed by Hatia (6), Mandar (4), Silli (2) and one booth each in Ranchi, Sesai, Ghatsila, Chaibasa, Manoharpur and Chakradharpur.
The re-polling was necessitated due to various reasons like defective Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), delay and disruption during polling. However, the date for re-polling is yet to be finalised, the sources said.
The third phase of polling for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly is scheduled for February 23. While elections for 24 constituencies were held in the first phase, the second phase witnessed polling for 29 seats.
