Ravi's murder accused remanded to judicial custody

Anantapur (AP): CBI, investigating TDP (Telugu Desam Party) MLA Paritala Ravindra's murder, has seized records of Cherlapalli Jail, where the main suspect Suryanarayan Reddy is lodged, official sources said.

The agency has recorded about 164 statements concerning the killing of Ravi in Penukonda of Anantapur district last month, CBI sources said.

Meanwhile, five persons, who were remanded to CBI custody for their alleged involvement in the case directly or indirectly, were today (Feb 18, 2005) further remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

They were produced before a court on expiry of their CBI remand yesterday.

On the request of Anantapur jail authorities, the court has sent all the accused to a jail in neighbouring Kadapa district, sources added.
