Friday, February 18 2005 19:28 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Panaji: Goa's main Opposition BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Feb 18, 2005) sought the protection of the Army or central security forces for its MLAs accusing ruling Congress of "intimidating" them.

Former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters in Panaji that he would be writing to Speaker Vishwas Satarkar seeking the Army or central forces security for the party's 17 MLAs and alleged "their life is in danger."

Parrikar, whose Government was dismissed by Governor S C Jamir more than a fortnight ago, said he has verbally conveyed his request to the Speaker.
