Siwan:
Cracking down on close lieutenants of controversial RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Lok Sabha member from Siwan, Mohammed Shahabuddin, the district authorities today (Feb 19, 2005) ordered externment of former Bihar Minister and Independent candidate for Raghunathpur Assembly seat Vikram Kuer from Siwan district for six months.
According to the notification issued by the district magistrate (Siwan) C K Anil, Kuer would not be allowed to enter the limits of the district.
The order promulgated under rule 3 (3) of Bihar Control of Crime Act, 1978 took effect from yesterday (Feb 18, 2005) itself, an official spokesman told sources in Siwan.
Anil had yesterday announced extending the period debarring controversial RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin from entering the district for one year, hours after the Patna High Court granted regular bail to him in connection with the abduction-cum-murder of the CPI-ML (Commuist Party of India-Marxist-Lenninist) leader Munna Choudhury.
Earlier, Shahabuddin and four others, JD-U (Janata Dal-United) MP from Maharajganj Prabhunath Singh, RJD MPs and Chief Minister Rabri Devi's brothers Sadhu and Subhash Yadav and Lok Janshakti Party leader Kali Pandey were on Tuesday barred from entering Siwan till February 28 for peaceful conduct of elections in the district on February 23 in the third phase.
