6 Pak fishermen arrested by Coast Guard in Kutch

Ahmedabad: Coast Guard officials yesterday (Feb 18, 2005) arrested six Pakistani fishermen off the coast of Jakhau in Kutch district, official sources said in Ahmedabad.

"Six Pakistani fishermen have been arrested and their boats have been seized after they were found in Indian territorial waters in the morning," a senior Coast Guard official said.

The official said that the six were being jointly interrogated by various intelligence agencies at Jakhau at present.

The six had told officials that they had been out at sea for past 17 days and had unknowingly drifted to Indian waters.
