The petition filed by Jile Sigh contended that either the entire process takes place on 23 or if the counting takes off on 23 then results should not be declared till 28 to take care of the postal ballots.

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advanced the counting date to 23 evoking sharp reactions from Haryana Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief Om Prakash Chautala.
