Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali were yesterday (Feb 20, 2005) awarded the Stardust Special Award for the film 'Black' released recently.
The glittering function was held at the Bandra-Kurla complex in Mumbai.
The Stardust award for the new musical sensation was given to singer Kunal Ganjawalla in the male singer category for the song 'bheegey hote tere' from the movie 'Murder', while singer Madhushree Rao was given the new sensation award in female singer category for the song 'Kabhi neem neem' from the movie 'Yuva'.
Yesteryear star Rajesh Khanna was awarded the 'Pride of Film Industry Award' at the, while Vinod Khanna was named the Role Model for the Year.
Apart from this Kunal Kohli, director of film 'Hum Tum' was given the hottest young filmmaker award and the hottest film award went to Abhishek Bachchan starrer film 'Phir Milenge' for its "different" theme.
Ashutosh Gowarikar bagged the dream director award for his film 'Swades', which is laced with patriotic fervour.
The star of the year award went to Preity Zinta for her role in the movie 'Veer Zara', while Hrithik Roshan took the honours for best performance in the year for his movie 'Lakshya'.
Model-turned actress Koena Mitra was declared as the new face of the year for her performance in 'Musafir'.
