Best Bakery: SC-appointed panel gets extension

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (Feb 21, 2005) extended time by three months for the high-level committee appointed by it to probe the veracity of allegations and counter-allegations by key witness Zaheera Sheikh and social activist Teesta Setalvad in the Best Bakery case.

The Court also allowed Zaheera four weeks time to file before the committee details of her assets and money deposited in the bank accounts.

The Court had on January 10 constituted the high-level committee, headed by its Registrar General B M Gupta, who had co-opted Joint Commissioner of Police Kanwaljeet Deol as the other member of the committee.
