Shahabuddin to raise DM's order in Parliament Thursday, February 24 2005 15:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Patna: RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Lok Sabha member Mohammed Shahabuddin, who came out of Beur jail in Patna today (Feb 24, 2005) after Chief Minister Rabri Devi set aside Siwan district magistrate C K Anil's order detaining him in judicial custody till February 28, said he would raise the issue in the Lok Sabha.
The MP said he would highlight the "malafide" intention of district magistrate and the foul language which he had used.
"I will raise the matter in the Lok Sabha to highlight the malafide intention of the DM in imposing Bihar Crime Control Act (CCA) against me and banning me from entering Siwan for six months," Shahabuddin told reporters in Patna before leaving for Delhi.
"There was no reasonable ground to impose CCA against me.
Besides, the language like "notorious" used by the DM against me in his letter to the State Government regarding imposition of the ban was in bad taste and insulting for a peoples' representative", the RJD MP said.
Shahabuddin said that the manner in which the DM was appointed as Siwan DM to conduct Assembly elections was "objectionable".
"Normally the Election Commission asks for three names from the State Government for appointing a new person as DM of some district going for polls. But, in this case, no other name except that of Anil was discussed," he said.
