Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable shot himself with his service rifle inside a CRPF camp in Srinagar today (Feb 26, 2005), official sources said.

The motive behind extreme step was not immediately known.

Constable Ramesh Kumar Vaid, who was posted at Jawahar Nagar locality, fired a single shot from his service rifle to end his life in the wee hours, the sources said.

He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, they added.
