Laloo's Rail Budget lacklustre & insipid, says BJP Saturday, February 26 2005 15:11 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Feb 26, 2005) dubbed as "lacklustre and insipid" the 2005-06 Railway Budget saying Railway Minister Laloo Prasad has failed to come out with any revolutionary measure for the growth and development of the train network.
"It was expected that loud-mouthed Laloo will do something for ushering in major changes for the welfare of passengers and improve the working of the rail network. But, nothing has been done," BJP leader Sushma Swaraj told reporters commenting on the Rail Budget.
Debabrata Biswas of Forward Bloc, which lends outside support to the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government, came out in full support of the Budget saying it was popular and in the right direction.
Senior Congress leader K Karunakaran described the document as a people's budget but regretted that his home State Kerala has been ignored by the Railway Minister.
