BJP alliance to form Govt in Jharkhand: Munda Sunday, February 27 2005 15:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ranchi:
Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today (Feb 27, 2005) said that the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) alliance will succeed in forming the Government in the State even if it fell short of half way mark of 41 seats.
"The trend available so far clearly reflects that we will able to get the required number of seat to form Government. Even if we fall short by some seats, we are sure to get support from others," he told sources in Ranchi as BJP-JDU (Janata Dal United) alliance surged ahead as the single largest grouping.
However, he said he will not identify the parties or candidates, who are expected to support him in such an eventuality. "I don't want to open that card now and this will be decided later," he said.
Munda skirted the question whether he or party MP Babulal Marandi would be the Chief Minister if the BJP alliance formed the Government.
