NDA's disinformation hit Cong' prospects: Sinha Sunday, February 27 2005 14:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Ramjatan Sinha today (Feb 27, 2005) said the "disinformation campaign" launched by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) that the Congress would join hands with the Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) after the polls had adversely affected his party's performance in Bihar.
"The NDA's disinformation campaign has definitely badly affected our performance," he said.
A dejected Sinha, who was trailing in the third place from Patna (Central) constituency said, "Congress' failure to present a clear picture of the shape of the secular Government also worked against the party."
Besides, he said some party leaders, including former BPCC general secretary Anil Sharma, whom he had yesterday (Feb 26, 2005) suspended, indulged in anti-party activities to the detriment of the Congress.
Asked if his party would extend support to the RJD in Government formation, Sinha said that though he personally disfavoured extending any help to the ruling party, the final decision would be taken by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
