NDA, RJD locked in neck and neck fight in Bihar Sunday, February 27 2005 12:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The ruling RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and its allies were marginally ahead of the Opposition NDA (National Democratic Alliance) winning five of the 10 seats results of which were announced so far today (Feb 27, 2005) as the rival alliance were locked in a neck and neck fight with the NDA ahead in 31 seats and RJD and its partners in 29 as trends from 106 constituencies were available till 1200 hrs (IST).
While RJD has won the three seats of Ramgarh, Chainpur and Bhabhua, Chief Minister Rabri Devi was trailing her LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) rival Rajiv Ranjan at Raghopur.
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has won Bettiah and Nokha and JDU (Janata Dal United) Singheshwar and Lauria seats.
RJD's allies CPI (Communist Party of India) and NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) have won Harlakhi and Shikarpur seats respectively, while Samajwadi Party has won Sikta.
The NDA allies, JDU and BJP were leading in 31 seats, while RJD and its partners were ahead in 29. BJP candidates were leading in 13 places and JDU in 18.
The RJD is leading in 24 seats, CPI and NCP (two each) and Congress (one).
Candidates of Ramvilas Paswan's LJP which could be the kingmaker in the event of a hung Assembly, were leading in 20 places, independents, who would play a key role in the situation were also ahead in 17 constituencies.
The Samajwadi Party, having won the Sikta seat, was leading in four places, BSP in two and CPML (Communist Party Marxist Leninist) in three constituencies.
