Jharkhand, Bihar trends on expected lines: BJP Sunday, February 27 2005 10:17 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Feb 27, 2005) said that trends in Jharkhand and Bihar were on expected lines and the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Government was on its way out.
Party General Secretary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told sources in New Delhi that Congress and Ramvilas Paswan-led LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) were in collusion with ruling RJD and helping it divide the anti-Laloo votes.
In Bihar, there was no confusion over NDA's (National Democratic Alliance) Chief Ministerial candidate being Nitish Kumar, he said.
"Congress and Paswan are hand in glove to help RJD through the backdoor. It (Congress and LJP alliance) was to confuse and misguide voters to divide the anti-incumbency votes against the RJD rule," Naqvi said commenting on early trends of counting in three States.
Naqvi, however, conceded that in Haryana, BJP was not a strong alternative so people voted for Congress as they were "fed up with the misrule of Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala.
