Paswan rules out seeking outside support from BJP Tuesday, March 1 2005 13:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Amidst reports that his newly elected party MLAs favoured seeking outside support of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in Government formation in Bihar, LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) chief Ram Vilas Paswan today (Mar 1, 2005) ruled out any such possibility.
"Neither will I support RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) or BJP nor will I take their support," he told reporters in New Delhi shortly after his arrival from Patna after the election results.
There could be no compromise formula, he said when asked about reports that he would not mind if Rabri Devi is replaced by a Muslim face in RJD as Chief Minister.
To a question he said no one from JDU (Janata Dal United) has spoken to him.
"Our national executive is going to meet but from our side there will be no initiative because the JDU till now is part of the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and JDU will have to decide...", he said when asked about the possibility of an alliance with
JDU.
Asked whether he had reservations about seeking outside support from BJP, he said, "Yes, we have full reservations. We have made it clear that we will not seek support either from BJP or RJD".
