J'khand issue: BJP to approach Kalam for 'justice' Wednesday, March 2 2005 15:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ranchi:
The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Mar 2, 2005) condemned Governor Syed Sibtey Razi's decision to appoint JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) supremo Shibu Soren as the next Chief Minister of Jharkhand and said it would approach President A PJ Abdul Kalam for 'justice'.
"The Governor has throttled democracy. It is the height of misusing power," BJP general secretary Rajnath Singh said soon after Soren was asked by the Governor to take the oath of office.
Claiming that the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) could parade 41 MLAs within one hours' notice, Singh said, "We have 41 MLAs, and Soren's claim of having 42 in a house of 81 members is ridiculous."
