'Congress to support RJD Government in Bihar'

Patna: The Congress sent a letter to Governor Buta Singh extending the party's support for formation of a Government led by the RJD in Bihar, party sources said on Wednesday (March 2, 2005).

AICC (All India Congress Committee) Secretary in-charge of Bihar affairs Harikesh Bahadur sent the letter of support to RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) supremo Laloo Prasad, which was received at the CM's house on Wednesday afternoon, the sources said.

Bahadur in his letter pledged that all ten MLAs of Congress will extend support to the RJD in forming the Government.

Laloo has also received a separate letter of support from the one-member CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist).

While the CPI (Communist Party of India) is likely to send its letter supporting the RJD chief later this afternoon, the sources said.
