Shibu Soren appointed as Chief Minister of J'khand

Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor today (Mar 2, 2005) invited JMM (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha) chief Shibu Soren to form the Government, a Rajbhavan communique said.

"The Governor, under Section 164(1) of the Constitution appointed Shibu Soren as the Chief Minister," the communique said.

Spotlight: Elections 2005

Governor Syed Sibtey Razi has asked Shibu Soren to prove his majority on the floor of the House by March 21.

Soren will be sworn at 16:45 hrs (IST).

Earlier, Soren told reporters that he had submitted a list of 42 MLAs to the Governor.
